Physical theatre and improvisation
This course will start later this year.
For everybody who wants to discover how to enjoy the stage and shine as an actor.
In this course you will learn how to stand on stage with and a strong and clear appearance. You are invited to improvise spontaneously and at the same time apply learned technical skills while doing so. You will discover how to play scenes that will fascinate the audience and you will find your own physical way to do this. During the course there will also be a strong emphasis on acting together as a group in chorus exercises. The lessons are all about using the studio space in an optimal and theatrical way, following impulses, action-reaction, acting as a chorus and acting with theatre masks to prepare for physical characters.
Marina Raat obtained her degree as a Drama Teacher in Utrecht at the University of the Arts (HKU). After this she specialized herself in improvisation and physical acting by studying two years at the Kline Academie in Brussels (pedagogy of Jacques Lecoq). Since then she has been working as a physical acting teacher for theatre academies, youth theatre schools, high schools and theatre groups. She is also a trainer in 'Didactics and Non Verbal Communication‘ at the Teacher’s Education department of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences
